Meet Frostbite, a 1-year-old white Ameraucana cross rooster with a small story and a sweet personality. Frostbite was found surviving on the streets of Kimball alongside his companion after being abandoned. The wonderful people of the streets took care of both Frostbite and his companion until someone could come rescue them. Despite this, he has proven to be a calm, gentle and reliable bird. He’s an excellent forager and has never shown any signs of aggression.
Frostbite gets along well with other roosters, as well as turkeys, ducks, geese and guinea fowl, making him a great fit for a mixed flock. As his name hints, he is missing most of the toes on both feet due to severe frostbite from his time fending for himself in the cold months. Thankfully, this is only cosmetic and doesn’t slow him down or affect his quality of life in any way!
If you’re looking for a friendly, easygoing rooster to join your flock, Frostbite would be a wonderful addition!
RILR aims to place rescued animals in safe, approved homes whenever it is medically and physically safe to do so. However, if an animal at risk cannot be safely rehomed, they will reside in our sanctuary building and pastures.
